Y’s Men Club

Call To Order:  Dwayne Atherton President  

Quorum Met: 3 Executive; 3 Directors plus10 members

We have 2 new members with us tonight, Larry and Ann Wilton

 Minutes of last meeting: Patty Edwards

Patty read and submitted the May 27, 2025 minutes for approval;Linda seconded.   Motion carried.

Old Business Items:

Debec Rally- Donna provided an update on the financials for our partners for the Debec Rally

Sunday School – revenue of $1600

Rec Council Poker Hand and BBQ – $1500

Debec General Store- $1500 in incremental revenue

SXS Raffle- we currently have 451 tickets sold and accounted for.  Still shy of our goal of 850

Treasurer Report– Wade provided us with a treasurer’s report of both the savings and chequing accounts.

      Wade made a motion to accept the report as submitted, seconded by Brian McHatten Motion carried

Trail Pass Report – Patty provided us with a trail pass report.  We currently have a total of 435trail passes sold. There had recently been an issue with obtaining Service NB sales reports explaining the considerable increase in

Facebook Report– Linda gave us an update on members on our Facebook account.  We currently have 1495 members.

Trail Report–  Kendall provided a trail report. Summary as follows:

5000– updated signage and marked boundary at Carr’s Siding.  Purged 2×4 culverts that were damaged.  Black’s rest area that was erected by Skedaddle, had discussions with Sarah to clear it out for better access.  After her discussion with Vance we have now inherited this rest area.  It is on crown property so we can proceed with work.  Plan to clear around and post a sign as RVATV and add as point of interest on Quad app

5001– Thunderstorms dropped many trees on this trail.  A full day was spent clearing the trail. Currently waiting on quotes from contractors on filling the large holes on the trail. Waiting on quote for ditching between McBride Rd and Lindsay Rd. A culvert just past Deal Rd is in need of minor repairs

5002-Leigh Williams resolved the beaver issue. 2 culverts have been purged, one replaced between Debec and Route 540.  Bridge beyond John Carsons needs work on the approach on both sides.  Still working on the issue across from the Debec firehall.  Bridge past Debec near Route 540 had some lumber stolen off it.  The snowmobile club is taking care of replacing it.  2 bridges that were used for the Rally need maintenance and upgrading. No action is being taken at this time.

Committee Reports-  No committee reports

New Business

Dwayne let us know that the Y’s Men are looking for volunteers for July 11th & 12th as well as Au

1st & 2nd for their canteen.

Don is looking for volunteers to selling SXS tickets at Sobey’s July 4th & 11th

Don mentioned that we had someone complain about the size of the arrows on the Rally. He suggested that we could get some sponsorship for the arrows allowing for them to be larger.

Bob Stokes provided us with the following updates

Quad NB will be sending out an job posting for the clubs to post looking for a GM

The economic impact study has shown that there is a great impact from our sport

An insurance question came up at the AGM if our insurance covered volunteers working on the trails. The new insurance policy will cover up to 10 people while working on trails

Culverts are being replaced on the Centreville trail by DNR

Quad NB is optimistic that we will receive provincial funding for our sport

Barricades are now removed from the trail in town

There was a substantial cost saving at this years AGM.  2024 came at a cost of $86,500 while 2025 came in at $39,568

A motion was made by Patty to cancel the July meeting due to Old Home Week and other local events. Motion was seconded by Donna. Motion carried.
