ATV CLUB 50 MONTHLY MEETING
April 28,2026
Minutes
Call To Order was made by Don Calhoun. Don welcomed everyone and explained that are volunteer sign up sheets with the sign in book.
Quorum Requirements have been met with 4 executive, 4 directors and 13 members present
Minutes: The minutes of the March 31st meeting were read by Patty and submitted as read. Seconded by Kendal McLean
Treasurer Report: Wade McLellan, Treasurer
Wade read and submitted the treasurers report for both the savings and chequing accounts. Report was submitted as read. Seconded by Linda McHatten
Trail Permit Sale Report: Patty Edwards
Patty provided a trail pass sales report with our Sales total of 139 passes to date
Facebook Update: Linda McHatten – FaceBook Administrator
Linda provided an update to our Facebook membership. We current have 1577 members
Trail Report: Kendall McLean, Trail Manager
Opening inspections were completed Saturday April 8. 9 Volunteers with 8 machines split up with 2 machines in each location to allow us to complete these all in one day this year. A huge shout out to all the volunteers that gave up their time to help.
Trail 5000- one culvert will require a load of gravel to cover it out near Shewin. A section on the North side of McKenna Road crossing is quite rutted and wet. We will need to dig this down and replace with some good drainage gravel and complete some ditching to allow run off. Chris Patterson and Randy Brown have offered to take care of this after May 10 when road restrictions are off.
Blacks Rest Area appears to be in good shape. Will need volunteers to clear growth for parking and some painting is required.
Trail 5001 – Requires a fair amount of new signage on the Centreville end. Waiting on TIFF application approval in May. Plan is to grand and ditch from Twin Bridges to Centreville. Side trail to Lakeville is a little rough but could be adopted as a managed trail however it passes through a wetland and may require additional work to pass WAWA expectations.
Trail 5002- no inspection completed due to wet conditions. We will need to look at resurfacing 2 bridges when opportunity exists.
Trail 5003 – Same issue as last year. Unclear if Dobie Road is a service road. Will look into getting this settled.
Trail 5004- Nothing done on this trail. Needs signs and cutting. Some heavy beaver activity on several locations. Leigh Williams has been called to address.
The Polaris grant was approved for our club for $10,000 to expand our trails to connect communities and other clubs. This grant was intended to extend from Centreville to Florenceville. Polaris is asking for advertising info on public announcements and FB.

Don read an Email from Quad- New President- Roland Theriault, New Secretary- Kent MacDonald
Old Business:
Kendall provided a brief updated from the AGM. Kendall explained the signage requirements from QuadNB. He also explained the trail numbering system for members that were not aware. Don made a motion for a $3,500 budget for Kendall to purchase signs to bring us up to the requirements. Motion was seconded by Brian McHatten and passed.
New Business: Don Calhoun, President
Don discussed that the executive had meeting to review the proposed bylaw changes. These changes were reviewed by the executive. The new proposed bylaws will be presented to the members at our next meeting for review. After 30 days we will vote on the changes. The executive agreed that a Q&A session at the end of each meeting would be helpful for members
Wade reminded the members of the run to Jack’s Pizza run – May 2nd . Meeting at the field across from the Eagles Nest at 9 AM
Don let everyone know that the annual club rally will be held on June 13th starting at the Debec Rec Centre. The Debec Rec council will once again be taking care of the bbq lunch in Benton. They will also be doing the Poker Hand. Volunteers will be needed for Registration, trail marking, ticket selling. Wade will see if we can get a fire pit for raffling off again this year.
Wade will once again organize a Christmas run to the McAdam Train Station
Don proposed an Emergency Trail Repair Budget of $10,000 to allow repairs to be completed in a timely manner with having to obtain approval from the executive and members. Don made the motion, seconded by Don Atherton. Motion passed.
A discussion was had in regard to volunteer rewards. It was suggested that members get a ticket for each meeting attended, or given a ticket for each time they assisted with trail work. These tickets could then be used towards trail pass purchases or purchases of Club clothing. Further discussion will need to be had on this matter.
Scott is looking for nominations to fill the position of Secretary.
Bob Stokes updated us on the 2 new employees that QuadNB has hired to assist with trail passes and digital advertising.
Q&A for this meeting consisted of discussion on whether a license is required while riding on the trails. We also discussed on whether there was any possible trail connection across the river.
