The trailmakers are planning on resurfacing the bridge behind the Debec store this fall and are looking to split the cost. They are also looking for volunteers to help.
Correspondence: Don received an email from the Debec Rec Council in regard to our 2 yr sponsorship. It is time to renew this sponsorship and they are looking to see if we are interested. Don put forth a vote to the members. It was voted that we would continue this for another 2 years in the amount of $500.00
Bob had sent an email to Don proposing that our club and Skedaddle look into offering “A day on the trails” to a local seniors program. This would give an opportunity for local seniors to spend some time on the trails that they may never have had the opportunity to do. Bob explained his proposal in more detail. Our club will look into this further.
Old Business: Don provided an update on the proceeds from the June Rally. The club had a profit of $5919.00. This was largely in part to the increased number of corporate sponsorship this year. Don had provided free lunch cards to any children that attended the rally. This resulted in a total cost of $76 by the club.
New Business:
Don let all the members know that a 2×4 had been found on the trail by Debec that spikes on it. He reminded all member to be cautious when on the trails of such obstacles.
Don gave us a brief update on the accident that occurred on Trail 23
Scott reminded everyone of the elections upcoming this fall. We will need to hold an election for the roles of President and Secretary.
A brief discussion was had in regard to the prosed update to the bylaws. It was decided that we should move ahead with typing these up with the changes and vote will be scheduled for the acceptance of the change.
A discussion was had on where the clubs charitable donations should go this year. Suggestions were made that we continue to support the Benton Park, Pembrooke Hall and include the Trinity Church Sunday School program.
A motion was made by Brian McHatten and seconded by Kendal McLean that we discontinue with any donations to the Food Bank. Bob suggested we consider the Interact club at the Woodstock High School. It was decided that we would form a committee to allocate donations. Linda McHatten will head up this committee.
Bob gave a brief update that more staff has been allocated to process HUP applications to hopefully get these approved in a timely manner. DNR has a committee that will looking into safety on the trails and railbeds, considering things such as safety and liability, barricades for safety, etc.
