RIVER VALLEY ATV CLUB 50 MONTHLY MEETING Minutes

Call to Order: by Don Calhoun
QUORUN REQUIREMENTS: were NOT met with 17 members present, 2 Executive and 2 Directors present.
MEETING MINUTES: Kendall read the minutes from the April 28th meeting. No Motion could be accepted. No vote to accept could be accepted.
TREASURER REPORT: was given by Wade McLellan. Treasurer report could not be accepted as read due to no quorum.
TRAIL PASSES: Wade gave the report in Patty’s absence. 68 passes sold in May by vendors and 167 from SNB.
FACEBOOK REPORT: Linda reported that FB is now at 1604 members. She also explained how the events tab and featured tabs work to users.
TRAIL REPORT: Kendall provided the trail report as follows:

Trail work at McKenna Rd has been delayed due rain. Chris and Randy will get to it after supper some evening.

Still awaiting final approval for TIF.
No schedule yet with AGCON to inspect the trail for grading

– Justin Wort will be out to repair the trail between Debec and Rte 540 later this week. Estimate $1000
– Grading desperately needed between Debec and Rte 540. I gave the go ahead to grade that section at an estimated cost of $1500
-Anyone using trail 5002, please avoid the bridges as they require work. Working to get the opportunity to inspect for repairs. May have to barricade the trail until repairs are completed.
5003 -No word back on the actual hold back to mark as open from Quad.

-No movement to report since last meeting.

-Beaver activity continues to be an issue in various areas.
–Old culvert hole opening up approx. 1.5 km Woodstock/East side of Cosman Rd .. waiting call back from contractor.
-Water over trail past Benton in low spot. Justin Wort will fill in low area with gravel and ensure culvert is drained again…estimate of $1000
MISCELLANEOUS ISSUES:
-Polaris grant money has been received. Although we thought it was Canadian funds, it was actually $10k USD = just over $13k CDN.
-Spoke with Greg Fisher of Fisher Farms: NO GO for land use agreement across his property. Working on a new plan to get to Exit 153. New member reached out to me today who lives in Summerfield, and they have a number of trails recorded to get to Centreville and around the area. This will help simplify the planning process.
CORRESPONDENCE: Don read the letter from GNB about the decision NOT to repair the old railway bridge at Grafton and the response letter from Bob Stokes. A discussion followed to help members understand trail planning and decision making regarding trails.
OLD BUSINESS:
Fire pit raffle tickets: Brian, Linda and Lori worked out the sales schedule at Sobeys.
June Rally: Debec Rec Council would have the building open Friday night for set up and it would be open Saturday until 4 pm to allow poker players to get their final cards. The Sunday school will provide it’s normal breakfast by donation. Rec Council will take care of the BBQ at Benton Park as well as the Poker hands. Ken Langdon granted permission for excess parking at the Community Center (Old school). We have 9 corporate sponsors who contributed money to run our Rally this year. Those sponsors were announced by Don: NAPA, Torque Motor Sports, Off the Wall Graphics, Dave’s Sports Center, Limestone Construction, Valley Refrigeration, Brennan Home Hardware, Wonder Muffler and Corey Recreation.
ATV Safety Training: Don announced that the ATV driver training will take place on 31May at Connell Park at the Y’s Men Club with 8 or 9 people registered.
OPEN DISCUSSION: an open discussion was had by all on trail planning, rallies, planned trail maintenance.
