Message from Jacques Ouellette:
It is with great pleasure that QuadNB received the major announcement from the Local Government that the Canada Community Building Fund was renewed for the next ten years and $254 M will be made available to cover the first five years.

This funding includes bridges construction, deck replacement, bridge replacement and culvert pipe replacements or new installations. Also, trails needed to lead to the new bridge construction are also eligible. There is no ratio of financial involvement for the clubs. Therefore, the more you put in financially, the better your chances will be to get approved.

They will consider first the projects that are for multiuse. We will give priority to the clubs that have the proper funding in hand, have the owner’s land access agreements signed, site visits completed or done prior the application.

In other words, ready to go projects. Once again, there are already a few clubs that were pro-active by having me visit the sites and acknowledge the needs.

Please don’t expect anything for this year. This involves a lot of commitment on my part and we still need to close the last projects from the first program, not counting the other projects already in the works.

Federation Office: Scams going around
Hi there :
We would like to advise you that someone pretending to be QuadNB is calling our members from a private number to tell them that they have won a prize and all they need to do to claim this prize is to provide their email address. THIS IS NOT QUADNB. It’s a scam. When we do call, it is not from a private number.  If you ever receive a call like this, please hang up the phone and above all, do not give out any personal information.

Still thinking about a membership appreciation event possibly in the Fall.

The Meduxnekeag train bridge is now closed and our club has applied for a HUP to get around it.
Brian will reach out to get two ‘Bridge Closed” signs. Motion made by Calvin and seconded by Kendall. Motion carried.

Kendall McLean was elected as the Trail Manager through acclamation.

Bob Stokes announced that Vance Johnson will become the interim Federation General Manager, while maintaining his current Trail Coordinator position.
Bob also advised that there is a Chapman Wind Mill project around Glassville coming in 2025. The St. Mary’s and Tobique First Nations are leading this project.

Dwayne announced that there was a special presentation. As part of the QuadNB 25th anniversary, the federation requested each club to submit a club volunteer as well as a long term builder/contractor which has assisted in growing and supporting the club as well as having a role in building our sport locally and provincially. We are proud to say that both John Carson and Aggcon Construction, Sheldon Accot were chosen as winners by the federation for the province.
Brian McHatten made the presentation to John which was followed by a cake reception. Congratulations!!
