Cantebury Club.  Dwayne discussed with the members the portion of the trails that the new Cantebury club is requesting from our managed trails.  The executive met in December to discuss the issue due to the urgency of the meeting with QuadNB, Dwayne and the Cantebury club.

The executive had decided that it was in our best interest to allow them what they were requesting.

Dwayne asked for motion that the members supported the executive decision. Brian McHatten made the motion, seconded by Scott Edwards. Motion carried

Bob spoke in regard to the new club and mentioned that QuadNB has postponed their decisions in regard to the Cantebury club.

Town Discussion on Street Access:  Don provided an update on discussions with the Town on street access.  Mayor Trina Jones had sent an email to Don indicating there have been good conversations with Town Council in regards to street access.   The Town will proceed with hiring a 3rd Party to review the current trail system and have them make recommendations that would best suit everyone.

Linda has now set Kendall up as an administrator to the Facebook page to allow for quick updates on trails

Trail Report: Kendall McLean – Trail Manager

Trail 5001 – after vote in November meeting to grade and gravel with extra funding received from QuadNB to extend our TIF, the first major winter storm hit and the trail was blocked with trees and brush.  The contractor cleared the trail rather than grade and gravel as that was not possible due to snow covering.  The decision was made to spend the money rather than lose it. Budget was $25K. Final bill came in at $29842. ATV usage signs were posted to deter ATV/SXS usage during off season.  Removed signage up to Deerville.  Centreville snowmobile club does not require our signs to be removed.

TIF has been submitted for further trail maintenance from 560 to Centreville.

Trail 5002: installed arrow signage and cleared brush around signs.

Still waiting word on HUP approval to add trail to QUAD app.

Trail  25:  Construction not 100% done yet at Reserve.  Temporary sign has been installed to help follow trail at Reserve.  More permanent signage will be added in the Spring.

5004 – trail into Eel River Falls- no work done last year.  Will need signage and minor maintenance.  Requires clearing for parking and turn around

Future Trails: still working on sorting 100’s of PID’s to ID landowners through Knoxford from Centreville to River de Chute.  Still have some map planning and organizing to complete.  Centreville to Florenceville is mapped . Owner ID still ongoing.  Been in touch with the Mayor of North Carleton but have not set meeting date yet to discuss future trails from Florenceville to Centreville and Mars Hill Boarder Crossing.

Maintenance Days- will need to sign and inspect Trail 5000 trail opens April 15th.  Budget suggests that this year we will only fill in the holes, spreading this work over the year between Red Bridge and Twin bridges

Trail 5001- signage to 560 and inspection

Trail 5002- trail inspection, bush cutting, and ID the bridge work required

Trail 5004- trail inspection, signage, parking/turn around

Trail 23- opens May 01- trail inspection and signage

Kendall mentioned the new trespassing act: you must have written landowner permission to use the land.  This includes walking on the property. The applies to all agricultural land.  There is the potential for a fine of up to $4500

Please be respectful of all landowners and get permission prior to using their land.  The benefits are developing relationships with club members for future trail planning and proving we can be respectful of private property.

Bob mentioned that the Victoria club will also be working on trail expansion this year hopefully expanding to connect to some of our future trail plans.

Committee Report : No committee reports were given.
